We're feeling pretty good about our local business community and we hope you are as well. Sure, there's still a variety of issues floating around and a number of hurdles that our local small businesses are forced to deal with, but from our POV, we see a business community that has fought its way back to a place somewhat reminiscent of where we were a few years ago...prior to all the craziness. That said, we wanted to assure you that we're still here to supply guidance, advise and support.

On a bright and sunny Thursday, June 13 , North Brooklyn Chamber celebrated the grand opening of Dental Avenue Greenpoint with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as friends and family gathered to show their support for the new venture of Dr. Jason Bastida.

Dr. Jason Bastida, DDS, is the founder of Dental Avenue Greenpoint and a second-generation dentist from Great Neck, New York. He also practices with his father in Jackson Heights, where he has worked for the past six years.

A year ago, while walking around the neighborhood, Dr. Jason saw a yoga studio having a garage sale and discovered they were moving out. Two months later, he signed a lease to turn the space into a dental office. Now, Dental Avenue Greenpoint has been open for two months, demonstrating how much can change in a year.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Jason, a Greenpoint resident, enjoys running along the North Brooklyn waterfront, lamenting his existence as a Mets fan, and spending time with his friends and his wife, Kelsey, in the best neighborhood in the city.
