It's a new year for all of us and no one really knows what to expect. There's a new administration taking office in Washington, congestion pricing has finally become a reality for NYC, the G Train might actually become longer, and McGuinness Blvd. is definitely not the road you want to take if you're trying to get somewhere on time.
However, we are committed and excited to continue fostering a supportive environment for local North Brooklyn businesses to thrive. We've got some special things planned for 2025 and, as always, we want you to know that we will continue to keep our doors open to anyone in need of business assistance, an introduction, or some supportive conversation. Let's make this a great year together.

The iconic East Village Ukranian diner Veselka has finally opened its doors in North Brooklyn.  Founded in 1954, this is the first time Veselka has operated a location in Brooklyn…and we’re very excited to have them here.  Jason and Justin Birchard, the family members behind the project, informed us that they’ve signed a 48-year lease for the location at 646 Lorimer Street which was originally constructed in 1918 to be a garage, but most recently was operated as a car wash.

If you’ve ever visited the East Village location on the corner of Second Avenue and E.9th Street, you know exactly what to expect…friendly service, great food, and a comfortable community vibe.  If you’ve never been, now’s the time!  And to celebrate the new location’s opening, Veselka and Katz’s deli have teamed up to create a pastrami pierogi (the “pastrogi”) which will only be available at the Brooklyn location until further notice.  That’s another reason to drop what you’re doing and head over there when they open to the public starting Wednesday, the 5th of June.
